  • Value Proposition

Republic Anode Fabricators has developed an on-site etchant regeneration system. The system is a means of automatically regenerating spent cupric chloride etchant and recovering etched copper as copper metal. It eliminates the use of hazardous oxidants and eliminates generation of hazardous wastes. Currently, a working prototype for a ferric chloride etchant has been developed, with a cupric chloride etchant system in the pipelines. This technology was developed with support from the EPA and is designed to be environmentally friendly while potentially reducing etching costs for printed circuit board manufacturers.

Republic Anode has been in the anode business since 1926. Our primary product through the years has been anodes for the electro-chemical industry. In 1994 Republic moved to our present facility in Strongsville, Ohio. This plant site has 56,200 square feet of manufacturing space under one roof and is located on 10 acres of land.
A full compliment of fabrication equipment along with superior material handling makes no job too large for Republic. Our 7 1/2 Ton / 34 ft. hook height overhead cranes places Republic in a class of its own. Recently Republic completed the fabrication of cathodes used for aluminum anodizing of the new Titan booster rocket shells. These cathodes (4 ft. wide by 20 ft. long) are believed to be the largest cathodes ever manufactured.
To better meet the needs of our customers, we have expanded our capabilities to broad base fabrication of equipment suited to the chemical industry. Markets served are steel mills, electronic (copper foil) production, automotive industry, and other specialty markets.
Products made at our facility include anodes for steel electro-galvanizing lines, anodes for tin free steel lines, anodes for electro-winning of copper foil, and anodes for specialty treating of metal sheet. Of particular interest to steel companies who have tin plate lines who use the new MSA bath are anode support bars used to conduct electrical current to the soluble tin anodes. These anode support bars incorporate Republic's proprietary technology of metal bonding of dis-similar metals, titanium and copper. Over the past several years, these anode support bars have proven to be the best method of conducting electrical current to the tin anodes.
To ensure quality in our work, we have personnel, equipment, and knowledge to meet or exceed our customer's requirements. Without outsourcing, we can meet G.T.A.W., F.C.A.W., G.M.A.W. , and S.M.A.W. specifications in accordance with Section IX of the A.S.M.E. Code.
